98 Chevy Silverado 3500 Factory dash trim for rocker switches
thingiverse
I've been wanting to integrate my rocker switches into the factory insert look for years, but cutting them out by hand just wasn't up to par. Now that I've got a 3D printer, it's made all the difference and opened up endless possibilities. This design is where the cargo light and 4x4 switch typically reside, except mine isn't equipped with the 4x4 feature. To accommodate this, I printed my own variation. Additionally, I included a solid piece along with three rocker switches to give it a more authentic look. The dimensions are remarkably close, if not identical, to the genuine part. The last two images show a comparison between the original and printed pieces. The blank insert was cleverly designed by BiscuitsOnTheFloor and can be found on Thingiverse at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2202388. This project is still a work in progress since I haven't yet attempted to install it into my dashboard. My next target will be the insert below, which I'm excited to tackle.
