96 Well Plate Press Stand

This is a stand to cap a 96-well round bottom plate. It should work well with many other types of 96-well plates too, but I made this specifically for 96-well round bottom plates. I have used it for 96 position screenmate tube holders as well because they are the same size as a round bottom plate. If you place a plastic cap mat on top of your plate and want to seal it with more than just your thumbs - without breaking the bank for a plate sealer - print this out, buy a rolling pin or use something long and round. Put your plate in the center, use your thumbs to cap a few wells on either end of the plate, then roll your rolling pin over the top a few times until you get a nice solid seal. You won't flip your plate or hurt your thumbs because the notches prevent you from rolling too far and the long and wide base give plenty of support.
