There's a vital component in my '95 Mustang that takes up space around the gear selector, a piece with a colored part showing which gear the car is in. My twenty-year-old vehicle finally reached its breaking point, and this essential item split into several pieces, prompting me to design this model for replacement. Based on my measurements of the '95 Mustang GT, I'm confident it will fit any '94-04 model equipped with an automatic transmission and the original shifter. OpenSCAD file is attached, licensed for non-commercial use. Here are some crucial print settings: Prints are done without a raft. No supports are used to create complex shapes and allow easier post-printing assembly. Layer resolution: 0.3mm provides a smooth finish while speeding up printing time. Infill percentage: 100% ABS is used to guarantee maximum durability. Notes: The original design consisted of one solid part glued together with two other components, requiring significant force during removal. To prevent the small parts from separating after post-printing assembly, my model consists of only two parts inserted and then attached together. To recreate this design: 1 - Print out both pieces: Printing the smaller piece in bright plastic may eliminate the need for painting. 2 - Paint the gear indicator on the small part, a simple process that enhances its visibility. 3 - Start assembling by aligning the small piece with its larger counterpart. First, position the gear indicator through the large oval opening in the smaller piece. 4 - Align both parts and insert the printed large piece into either end, ensuring it's on top as it passes through. 5 - Use superglue to bond both pieces together securely while allowing them to move smoothly within their channel. 6 - Once bonded, separate the vehicle shifter component carefully from its old home before reattaching. 7 - Test the assembly, verifying that gaps are filled and the indicator shows accurate gear selection.
