90mm Electric Ducted Fan
grabcad
I decided to design a new ducted fan unit for my radio controlled jets. This should be a very good design. I used techniques we used at General Electric when I worked there, though on a small scale. The engine is based on an existing inrunner EDF motor sold by a prominent company in the RC world, and with a 12S battery (44.4 volts), would spin at 54,000 rpm and propel my F-18 to about 140 mph, according to the math. Normally I would have modeled this as an assembly so I could mix and match parts, but I was feeling lazy today and just made one part.
