90mm EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) for FDM printing

General Information: This is a high-efficiency, high-power EDF with 90 mm shroud diameter that's optimized for the Hacker E50-L 2.5D brushless motor. It delivers up to 61N of thrust at 4.5 kW electrical power on 12s when printed and finished correctly. The design can be adapted to other brushless motors with minimal modifications, but a Wemotec Midi Fan adapter is required for safe attachment to the motor shaft - this must not be 3D printed! Operating turbo machinery poses significant risks, especially with 3D printing; use this design at your own risk. Printing: All parts require 100% infill and supports. A distinct support geometry is provided for printing the rotor and stator, which can be challenging even for experienced users. Strong prints are essential for safety reasons, while high print quality reduces post-processing work and improves aerodynamic performance. Use high-quality PLA for the Rotor, a material with higher heat deflection temperature for the Stator and motor housing, and PLA for the remaining parts. Post Processing: Rotor and stator blades should be smoothed using epoxy resin and fine sandpaper. The rotor must be properly balanced before use by tapping the six holes in the rotor hub and adding weight in the form of headless M3 screws.
