90 degree tube with mesh
thingiverse
I discovered a conduit hidden within my basement wall that extends directly outside of the house. This opening is substantial enough for rats, mice, and other unwanted pests to effortlessly enter the basement. Initially, I assumed this tunnel was an integral component of the self-ventilation system for the basement, so I chose not to simply seal it off. To address the issue without hindering the ventilation, I devised a 90-degree angled tube with an inner diameter identical to that of the original conduit (52mm). I installed it in such a way that the grid portion faces upwards, allowing me to peer into the opening.
