90 Degree Gear Box

As an avid turkey hunter, my objective was to build a high-tech decoy that would allow me to capture immersive footage of these magnificent birds. To achieve this goal, I needed a specially designed remote controlled decoy equipped with a rotating platform to hold my GoPro camera securely in place. After researching various options, I identified a high-torque motor capable of delivering low RPM but found that the one I selected had an inconveniently long design that wouldn't fit well vertically. Determined to solve this problem, I decided to build a 90-degree gearbox system that could transmit the rotation to a vertical shaft with precision and accuracy. During my search for the right gear, I stumbled upon these adaptable Bevel Gears that perfectly matched my requirements and underwent some modifications to suit my project needs. Furthermore, I created a custom-made enclosure and stabilizer box to cradle the motor safely while ensuring smooth performance. Upon installing the gears and verifying their synchronization with the motor shaft, I was thrilled to discover a seamless match between them through strategic keying of the gear system. The particular high-torque motor model that caught my eye can be purchased at http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NN3JHIM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I highly recommend it for its robust performance capabilities.
