# 9 Volt Battery Protector This protector is designed to keep the positive and negative terminals from shorting out when not in use. I have to keep a 9v battery handy, but they do short out and drain in my pocket if I accidently let the battery share my pocket with my keys. This protector, holds a single 9 volt battery. The battery is inserted and clipped in place. This clipping or locking action will provide an audible click. The battery is secured in the protector, resisting unintended removal. The battery although is easy to pull out when needed. I have tried with 3 different brands of batteries. The three batteries had a variance in size, and this holder was able to work on all three. The rechargeable battery was the largest and was really tight. Read note below for oversized batteries. There is a pry point added as well incase the battery becomes stuck in the case. This allows for a flathead or a flat object to pop the battery out. ## Oversized Batteries For oversized batteries you can clip, cut or sand the half spheres printed behind the arched cross support. Removing these half spheres will allow for more room in both directions. ## Design notes The half spheres behind the arch cross support are key in this design. When a battery is inserted, the half sphere press the cross support outward. When this happens the two legs are pulled in slightly as well. This distributes an equal pressure on the 4 sides of the battery, providing a snug fit for every battery.
