9-Volt Battery Holder -- Customizable

thingiverse

This is a customizable 9-volt battery housing. I have included STL files for two housings, one that holds four batteries and another that holds twelve. The variables at the top of the OpenSCAD file are documented if you want to make adjustments. I ended up printing with tolerance set at 2 (a variable in the file) and this is the value used in the STL files; however, I also had success with tolerance set at 1. The only difference is that at 1 the batteries were quite snug and wouldn't always fall down when one was removed without some assistance. I liked the snugness because then the bottom batteries won't slide out the front if it is tipped. But having the batteries be able to fall down was more practical, so I went with 2. You can play with the value if you want. The good thing is you can tell it to only print a two-battery-per-column housing to test out your values before printing a bigger one. The STL files were used to create the two housings shown in the pictures.
