This plastic cap guards 9-volt batteries from short circuiting and starting fires during storage. Unprotected 9v batteries, stored with metal items, pose a fire hazard due to accidental terminal shorts. This frequently causes house fires. The cap fits the battery terminals, preventing short circuits; it prints on a Replicator 2 in PLA at 0.2mm layer height within five minutes. Its press-fit design functions optimally at 0.2mm layer height.
