9 Gear Fidget Spinner
thingiverse
I'm working on creating a 3D printed version of the popular 9 Gear Fidget Spinner. While I'm sure a machined fidget spinner will spin better, we want to try our hand at printing one, right? To get started, you'll need two different bearing options: the 695 bearing (ID = 5mm, OD = 13mm, t = 4mm) or the 1150ZZ bearing (ID = 5mm, OD = 11mm, t = 4mm). I highly recommend using the 695 bearing, as that's what was used in my original prototype and also featured in a video. I've included files for both versions, just in case you want to try out the 1150ZZ option. Here are the items you'll need to print: * Center Gear * 8x Gear (choose from 695 or 1150 version) * Top Gear Frame (choose from 695 or 1150 version) * Bottom Gear Frame (choose from 695 or 1150 version) * Top End Cap * Bottom End Cap As for materials to purchase, you'll need: * 10x 695 bearing or 1150ZZ bearing * 4x 15mm M3 Flat Head Counter Sunk bolt * 1x 20mm M3 Flat Head Counter Sunk bolt * 5x M3 Nut To assemble your fidget spinner, refer to the assembly image or follow along with my video at https://youtu.be/73aq4J0pjIE. Update: The 8 outer gears I designed are also compatible with my Planetary Gear Fidget Spinner. If you have any leftovers from this project, feel free to use them on that design instead - just head over to https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2744194 for more information!
