UPDATE: Huge thanks to everyone who has favorited this model! Give it a build if you'd like or leave a comment to see what improvements can be made on it. They work perfectly for me but I'm totally open to alternatives where available. Would a sample single print be useful to see if the holes fit for your settings? I needed an Amiibo holder and saw some novel ideas here, but nothing quite met my requirements. I measured the bases of my Amiibos and did some tests. My original creation wasn't up to my standards and didn't offer a nice view of each tier. The one I'm offering now definitely has 30mm per tier. It could be taller, but let me know if you'd like to see a different "per tier" height. It was designed with 123D Design. Simple, it has rounded edges and the brand "Nintendo" in the front (not using the official font or style, just a font I liked). Future iterations of Amiibo holders will have 4 Character "pods" with connectors, likely in the vein of Mario Brothers. A 2-tier, 6 Character version is in the works for "shelves". Please let me know if you like it. I was really proud of this model. Print Settings Printer: Wanhao Duplicator i3 v2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 2mm Infill: 20 Notes: I used a Grey PLA with a temp of 212, but the first row was 220. This made it difficult to remove but allowed for great adhesion and a super smooth bottom. For the Wanhao, this takes up most of the build volume for the base. The print takes under 24 hours with these settings at 40mm/s. How I Designed This Self-Created First, I used digital calipers to find the base size, both circumference and height. I adjusted for tolerances and made sure the 9mm height wasn't fully realized (some Amiibos stand slightly off of their bases). Secondly, I began designing in 123D Design (by Autodesk; free software). Once I had this made, I produced a single 1-character version in clear PLA to check my tolerances. Surprisingly, my first run was a 100% success! Once this was done, I kept the baselines for the base and began using these measurements for all iterations. My first 9 Character successful recreation was with Grey PLA and was the predecessor to this model. The differences are that this model has tiers 2 and 3 at 30mm higher than the previous tier, the original was 15mm. I found that you couldn't see the amiibos very well and it didn't do a great job at highlighting individual characters. This style is designed to be "modern" and round while still presenting the characters as their own style. An alternate is an 80's version I have with much more angular sides and a small block which protrudes with the words "Nintendo" inset. I also have a version with a Smash Brothers inset/protrusion.
