A Modular Stackable Shelving System is designed to stack small networking appliances and other items of similar size. This system includes designs for stackable shelves, a base, a base shelf, a top shelf, and two different types of joiners. The shelves are engineered with their support structure facing upward to prevent the appliances from sliding off. Many parts are designed with M3 threaded holes, simplifying assembly using common hardware. They can all be easily 3D printed without any supports on a modern inexpensive 3D Printer with various materials including PLA, PETG, ABS and many other printable materials. PLA works very well for this application as it is easy to print. The object should be durable, easy to maintain and last for a long time. However, it should not be stored or exposed to high temperature exceeding ~55 C (~130 F). If the object is left in or exposed to high temperatures I strongly recommend using another heat tolerant material such as PETG or ABS to prevent warping. I have been using the one in the pictures since August 2019. It is made with PLA and has served me very well in my office environment because the shelves are designed for ventilation, keeping switching equipment close to room temperature.
