The primary objective behind these designs is outlined in "3D Printed UV-Vis Cuvette Adapter for Low Cost and Versatile Spectroscopic Experiments," a study published in the open-access journal ACS Omega. Access to the publication can be found at http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/acsomega.7b01310 This specific component is designed to replicate traditional quartz and glass UV-Vis spectrometer cuvettes. In this design, we have adjusted the path length to account for the typical error of our 3D printer. As a result, the designed path length is 9.5 mm, but the printed adapter has been measured at 10 mm with an approximate sample volume of 2.4 mL. This cuvette can be easily used in most standard UV-Vis spectrometers. We recommend printing this design using black filament to minimize light scattering. A step-by-step instructional video on assembling the spectrometer is provided below, along with a list of materials used (post-printing). Either quartz or glass windows can be utilized depending on the required spectral range for the cuvette.
