9-1 balun box version 1.2

A fierce gust of wind snapped my trusty long wire antenna, forcing me to dismantle it and examine the balun. As I removed the inner cylinder from the bottom, I realized that a sturdier design was in order - one that would taper the base and prevent this problem from recurring. My new version 1.1 is built with improved durability in mind. After successfully crafting my first long wire antenna and falling deeply in love with its performance, I set out to build another. This time, I decided to create a sleek and tidy box or container instead of modifying a project enclosure. The result is a sturdy housing that incorporates so-239 chassis mounts, bolt holes for wire connectors, wing nuts, and a small handle with a notch for easy lifting into a tree. I also included a slit to accommodate a zip tie, which will help absorb strain in the long wire antenna - a crucial feature given Newfoundland's notorious windstorms. Furthermore, I added engraved text to distinguish between the long wire and counterpoise connectors, as well as the type of balun used (a detail that can be easily overlooked when multiple units are being crafted). Keep an eye on http://www.linuxwolfpack.com for a step-by-step guide on how to build this antenna, which I will be publishing shortly.
