8x8 LED Matrix bezel (MAX7219 modules)
thingiverse
A bezel is designed for mounting three 8x8 LED matrix displays side by side in a row. The bezel can be glued directly onto its surface, such as MDF material. Alternatively, drill holes at each end and use screws for mounting. **Version 2** This version of the bezel improves upon Version 1 with a larger design that provides more area to glue to the surface. The squares where the LED matrices sit have been made wider, allowing them to fit snugly without needing glue. A light amount of adhesive is recommended for secure placement instead. **Version 1** Three 8x8 LED matrix displays are placed in this bezel using a friction fit method. First, place the LED modules on a flat surface with their faces down, then position the bezel over them from behind and tap it gently with a hammer to create a snug fit. This method eliminates the need for glue or other adhesives - although it may require some skill! Be cautious of the first layer squishing inward and reducing the size of the holes. If necessary, use a dremel or knife to enlarge the holes and ensure a proper fit.
