This project aimed to determine optimal parameters for a 17-19 ton LAV. It utilized LMS/Siemens Virtual.Lab Motion R13 for dynamic analysis and LMS/Siemens Imagine.Lab 13.2 for ABS braking systems. The hull geometry was adapted from a Russian BTR 70, with the original gun system replaced and position adjusted for higher caliber shooting. The remainder of the geometry is in the conceptual phase, featuring simplified design and wire-frame CAD. Key objectives included optimizing suspension characteristics, drive-line performance (testing various differential types on different terrains), fine-tuning the steering subsystem and assisting controller, examining multiple braking options, assessing power requirements, and evaluating full vehicle responses. Additionally, an auto-aligning turret control system was added to dynamically target and fire upon moving drones, providing feedback on error between actual and desired targeted points. The creator acknowledges the need for reversed tire profiles; however, this project focuses on achieving optimal LAV performance through comprehensive testing and design modifications.
