8mm Vertical Rod Holder- Ribbed (LMK8UU footprint)
thingiverse
I was initially missing a 3D printer to manufacture this component, so I installed an LMK8UU flange type bearing as a temporary replacement. After the printer was up and running, I produced this part to substitute the bearing with a sturdy plastic component. A hole measuring 8.2mm in width is designed for accommodating some flexibility, considering the irregularities often encountered in prints generated on a wavy z-axis. For those looking to modify this design, an SLDASM 2014 file has been included. To enhance the part's overall stability, ribs are built with increased thickness as standard practice. To prevent distortion of the plastic component upon entry, if misaligned, the opening is carefully chamfered. To achieve the best possible results, it is recommended to print in pairs or reduce the printing speed approaching the upper half of the component, allowing sufficient time for the material to cool properly.
