8mm SMD component holder
thingiverse
I designed an all-in-one 3-piece tape holder that's incredibly simple yet effective in its design. The goal was to create a component holder that could store cover tape while also accommodating barcode stickers and component numbers. The existing component tape would often hang over the edge of my worktable, so I wanted a solution that could keep everything organized. The assembly process is straightforward; all you need is a small amount of super glue to secure the spool in place. I then hot-glued the entire assembly onto my table, side by side. Keep in mind that you may need to slightly adjust the dimensions of the spool and its cap if your printer's tolerances are on the loose side. To print this design, use a high-quality filament and avoid supports altogether. Only minor bridging will be necessary. I opted for PETG to give my tape holder a subtle amount of flex, which adds some extra durability.
