8878D solder rework desk tray
thingiverse
I purchased a 8878D portable solder rework station, which is incredibly compact and functions flawlessly. I designed a desktop organizer station for it, featuring a soldering pencil holder that stays securely in place with strong magnets. To attach the airgun mount to the side, you simply unscrew it from its metal part and screw it on. This setup remains untested for fit and may require minor adjustments. 8/13/2019 V2 was uploaded, which includes significant improvements. The base is now divided into two parts with M3 screw holes that allow the parts to be held together while gluing. I also increased the depth and angled the tool tray, adding a solder sucker holder for added convenience. The tool tray is designed specifically for M3 threaded inserts, available on Amazon at this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07GLJ7KCJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I also added holes to the base for 6mm x 3mm Neodymium magnets, which can be found on Amazon at this link: https://www.amazon.com/Neodymium-Magnets-Hanging-Science-Handcraft/dp/B07BDFPX6K/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=neodymium+magnet+6mm+x3mm&qid=1565715221&s=hi&sr=1-1-spell
