811A vacuum tube

The legendary AF & RF transmitting triode 811A takes center stage. This rugged and reliable tube, equipped with a Thoriated Tungsten filament and boasting a Power Dissipation (Pd) of 45 watts per CCS, along with an Impedance (u) of 160 ohms, served as the backbone of numerous electronic systems throughout history. From its humble beginnings in the Altec 1570B PA amplifiers of the 1950s to its heroic performance during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, when cutting-edge solid state equipment failed due to desert sand's static charges, this tube consistently delivered under pressure. Still widely available and affordable today, the "CEI" version, marked as "Made in Germany," is a testament to the enduring quality of this mid-1970s-era design.
