This holder is designed specifically for 80x80mm color glass filters used with Hasselblad CZ Tele-Tessar 250/4 lenses that feature a 77mm filter bayonet. To integrate this holder into a portable astrocamera, its 80x80 side was left open to simplify the installation of up to three filters when no camera movement is anticipated. The 80x80mm standard color glass filter size is widely used in Soviet filter sets.
