80mm Screwless Vice
thingiverse
I found a vice design online that I wanted to improve upon by eliminating the jaw tilt up feature. The new design uses a central bolt to pull the jaw closed, but also down towards the body, resulting in good clamping force while keeping the jaw level. To use this design, you loosen the handle and press the jaw against the part to be clamped, then gently press down on the pivot handle before tightening until the pin catches. You may need to tighten the bolt again as needed. You will require an M5 nut, washer, and a bolt at least 55mm long if not using the handle or at least 95mm if you do use it. Additionally, six 20mm M3 nuts and bolts are necessary for securing the body to the base. The base piece is optional but recommended. For printing this design, I used an Ultimaker 2 with specific settings.
