80mm Fan Mount for Printrbot Jr.
thingiverse
For my Printrbot Jr., I discovered a spare 80mm fan and decided to mount it for experimentation purposes. Initially, I tried higher-powered fans but luckily avoided any damage. The Printrboard can reportedly handle a maximum draw of 500mA. To prevent overloading, I opted for the lowest power fan (0.20a) available. I also noticed that Printrbot.com has updated the extruder design for the Jr., which is different from mine. Cautioning about unknown voltage specifications for the Printrboard and potential weight issues on the Y-ARM, I printed out a fan mount without screws or glue. To secure the 80mm clip to the small arm, I used superglue. Originally, I aimed to make the arm adjustable with a screw and nut, but this isn't necessary and can be glued instead. For future improvements, I plan to complete adjustability once more material is acquired. The fan was connected via an extension cable to the Printrboard through the back of the printer.
