80mm Case Fan Adapter
thingiverse
This is to connect an 80mm PC case fan to a 4 inch dryer vent exhaust hose. I work in my basement with cats who like to hang around me, so I needed a way to get rid of unpleasant smells from printing ABS and other materials that aren't good for people or pets to breathe in. I use an acrylic enclosure on my Robo 3D R1 Plus printer from PrintedSolid.com. When I went shopping at local PC and hardware stores, I couldn't find a reliable way to connect the vent hose to the case fan. That's why I came up with this solution. There's another similar one out there for 3 inch dryer hose, but I had to use 4 inch because that was what I could get locally. The square section simply slides over the entire outside of the case fan - no fasteners needed at all! Print Settings Printer Brand: Robo 3D Printer Model: R1 ABS + PLA Model Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: Low Infill: 10% Notes: You might not need supports. I used them only in the corners where the round section overhangs inside of square corners just in case. Post-Printing I installed it and was running ABS when I wrote this, so no post process pic is available. Supports came out easily and no post-processing needed on the part.
