808 Keychain Camera Motorcycle Helmet Mount Case
thingiverse
I had a pair of old #11 808 keychain cameras just collecting dust and decided to build a simple low-profile case that could be securely fastened to my helmet. These aren't top-of-the-line cameras, but they're perfect for capturing video documentation of a ride when you don't need high-end quality, and they're extremely affordable. To increase recording time, I added a compartment to hold a larger 540mAh battery, which boosts the camera's runtime to over two hours. I used tiny M2x6 screws to secure the top plates in place, but super glue would be just as effective if you prefer that method. The design isn't even remotely waterproof, so riding in the rain is completely off-limits. To keep everything in its proper position inside the case, I relied on 'DAP Blue Stik adhesive putty' to secure the camera's circuit board and rotate the image sensor so it faces horizontally when mounted on top or attached to the side of my helmet. The entire unit is attached to my helmet using velcro.
