8020 "CUP" Holder

We carefully place our printers on wire shelves, utilizing them to elevate the devices off the floor and keep the workspace organized. To maintain the cleanliness of the print beds between each use, we employ isopropyl alcohol as a vital cleaning agent. Our home-built printer, constructed from 8020 series 10 extrusions, also requires regular cleaning with this effective solvent. The isopropyl alcohol is stored in a laboratory squeeze bottle, which has become a nomadic fixture due to its lack of a designated storage space. After numerous measurements and design iterations, including three prototypes and one major redesign, we successfully created a holder for the squeeze bottles. This innovative holder is printed in two parts, eliminating the need for supports and incorporating channels for zip ties to provide extra stability. My wife reviewed our creation and astutely observed, "Congratulations, you've reinvented the cup holder." Her comment was well-deserved, as it highlights the holder's versatility in accommodating various containers. The design seamlessly integrates with 8020 series 10 extrusions and works effectively with cans, bottles, Starbucks venti cups, and laboratory squeeze bottles of isopropyl alcohol.
