8020 clip profiles for snap mount in 8020 and similar extrusions
thingiverse
My printer comprises a mix of 8020 extrusions, with grooved surfaces on the 8020 parts and smooth ones on others. I recently revamped my printer and needed clips that fit both profiles, so I redesigned the clip profiles for tighter gripping. The new profiles can be found in the SketchUp file. Additionally, I created a flag and switch mounts for my extruder carriage, MegaMax. The flag grips tightly onto the drive belt while allowing relocation, and microswitches are used due to their two-wire requirement; opto switches could also be accommodated. The SketchUp file contains profiles that can be adapted to create any clip/mount needed, but ensure not to modify the part fitting into the 8020 slot's rail. After careful measurements and trials, the switch mount clip is designed at a height of 13.35mm, printable with Coex3D royal blue ABS, 30% infill, no support material, although Netfabb has issues repairing the flag.stl file, Slic3r resolves it.
