8020 1010 Corner

**Disclaimer:** I highly recommend using the genuine **8020** [10-series corner piece](https://8020.net/4119.html), but if you're like me and find yourself in a bind, these corner pieces can be a decent substitute. I created them when I ran out of stock, and since my project only needed half as many, I decided to take the challenge and learn **OpenSCAD** while I was at it. The hull feature is truly revolutionary. Works best with 1/4-20 hardware, making it a great fit for most applications. I've experimented with three different orientations, and each one has its unique benefits. Since these corner pieces aren't load-bearing, you can get away with using the right materials and print settings to achieve remarkable results. From a tensile strength perspective, the "roof" orientation is arguably the strongest, with its broad side facing down and the corner pointing up. For aesthetics and second only in terms of tensile strength, I personally prefer the sideways print, where the mounting holes are perpendicular to the build plate. This orientation has some overhang, but a thick enough shell should compensate for it. The upright (default) position is the weakest, but still easy to print.
