80 40 30 20 vertical antenna SOTA
thingiverse
This is a vertical antenna with a loading coil specifically designed for an antenna pole that stands at 6m tall. The coil should have approximately 60 microH, which has yet to be measured but is estimated based on its construction. It features around 60 turns wrapped tightly around a core measuring about 10cm in length and boasting a diameter of 5cm. The coil tapping is achieved using copper tape coated connectors that are secured to the coil with rubber bands. Once in place, these taps can be easily connected to a 3D printed clip featuring a copper tape surface for secure clamping onto the coil taps. For the radiator plug, a banana plug measuring 3mm in diameter is used, while the counterpoise banana plug measures 5mm in diameter. Additional components required include bungee cord or rubber bands, copper tape, and a BNC socket. To assemble the device, both halves of the printed parts must be carefully glued together using super glue. Small name tags can be slid onto the counterpoise to mark specific positions for unwinding each band. UPDATE 1.5.2020: The fusion 360 file has been added for users who may need to make adjustments to the coil's design. If you choose to adapt the coil, please share attribution if you upload a remix of this project. Enjoy using this antenna! 73 de 9A5ALX
