8-way Vertical Surface Mounted SDCard Holder

8-way Vertical Surface Mounted SDCard Holder

Yet another SDCard holder. I made these for myself, but I thought someone might also find them useful, so here they are. There are two versions that mount to a vertical surface and hold 8 standard SDCards each. The SDCards are protected over most of their length and are kept in place via a 10 degree down-angle on the slots. Enough of the top of the cards were left exposed so that you can see easily see if a slot contains the card is a microSD and holder, or an standard-dimension SDCard. The gaps between the cards is large enough to allow the cards to be removed by grabbing the tips as well as by using the side grip method (the recesses). One is mounted with two screws - one top and one bottom. The other is magnetically mounted with four powerful recessed rare-earth magnets. Magnet dimensions are 10mm diameter, 4mm thick. Clearance was given at the bottom and the sides of the holes to allow the ejection of excess hot glue if this method of affixing the magnets is used. Suitable screws are countersunk 8mm x 40mm (1 5/8" x 8).
