8-platform stemware-style 48mm figure display stand with serpentine base
thingiverse
This version of the 48mm round-base figure display stand has platforms at 25, 50 and 75mm. Can be printed with 120% Z-scaling for 30,60,90 with only minor cosmetic distortion. The sleek, serpentine base is not good for tipping stability, but looks like it will work fine for static shelf display if the figures on the high platforms are not too awfully heavy. Up to 49mm round base may fit inside the rims. Hellhound figure has ~50mm base and is sitting on the rim of one of the platforms. I am a little concerned about the stability (after a previous 48mm concept sagged terribly after a few days), but that over-3"-tall guy in the top center looks pretty stable so far. Figures that have their center of mass not close to the center of the circle would be better on the lowest platforms... I think. Shown flanked by two of my 18-platform, 25mm stemware-style displays in the wide picture. perspective is from below the shelf, so your painted figures can be seen by shorter viewers or on more shelf heights. I'm going to mark this as a "work-in-progress" until I see that it is stable and keeps its shape with the big guy on the high platform for some time. That green figure on the upper right is not too heavy, but his weight is so far off center than sometimes he falls over if the floor shakes. I put him on the least-well-supported, highest platform to see how it fares. That end of the serpentine base has little twist resistance, so wondering if it will start to lean...
