This is a custom mount and retaining ring designed specifically for an 8-inch diameter telescope mirror. To ensure accurate printing, I strongly recommend using rigid materials like PETG+CF or PLA+CF and carefully measuring for material shrinkage, as the tolerances on this mount are extremely tight. The mirror pocket has a precise inner diameter of 8.05 inches, while its outer diameter is 8.75 inches. The distance from the base to the center of the mirror measures 5 inches, with a footprint of 4 x 4 inches. The holes for the retaining ring are precisely sized for 6-32 threaded inserts, available from McMaster (PN: 93365A132). Mounting holes on the base have an outer diameter of 0.27 inches and a generous clearance of 0.5 inches around the bolt head, spaced 1 inch by 1.5 inches apart.
