8 Inch Tablet Stand
thingiverse
I have a few extra old 8-inch tablets that I wanted to repurpose. I happen to have two 3D printers and two little laser engravers, so I figured I'd connect the tablets directly to them as touch screens to control them. So, I created an 8-inch tablet holder with openings at the top and side for access to the ports. If you have a tablet with holes on the right, you can bring this design into Tinkercad and use the hole tool to open up the right side. I also purchased the OTG adapter that allows me to charge the tablet at the same time as connecting USB to computer/mouse/keyboard etc. Dimensions of slot for Tablet: - Width = 8.125 inches - Thickness = .375 inches - Height = unlimited as top is open - Angle of Tablet = 45 degrees I bought an OTG adapter that can be linked at http://www.walmart.com/ip/4-Port-Micro-USB-Host-OTG-Hub-Power-Adapter-Charging-Cable-for-Android-Phone-Tablet-PC/971642870. UPDATE: I created the OTG Cable holder which you can glue to the back of this tablet stand. The link to the OTG Cable Holder is at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2899626.
