Brackets strong enough to mount an 8-inch deep shelf from the hardware store securely fasten to the wall with a 1-inch gap in between for cables. Designed with three mounting points for #8 x 1-1/4" Wallboard Anchors, these brackets hold the shelf off the wall allowing cables to pass through with ease. Four years later and continuous use has shown this loaded shelf is still going strong, standing as my most popular Thing.
