8-hole Bearing Race

8-hole Bearing Race

thingiverse

This bearing race is designed for a thrust bearing, requiring only two M8 washers and eight 4.5mm (0.177") ball bearings, typically found in BB guns. Originally created for RepRap Darwin's Z-axis bearings, it remains a versatile tool. Its size, including washers, is similar to that of a 608 bearing. A set of four bearings has functioned flawlessly for 1.5 years. To assemble, start with a washer on the M8 axle and add the race. Insert a BB into each hole and cap it off with another washer. Thick grease or vaseline can help prevent early BB discharge. This part prints well in various materials like PLA, ABS, and CAPA. For assembly, use a 1-layer raft and clear the holes with a 5mm and then an 8mm drill by hand.
