8-bit violin
thingiverse
Create your own version of an 8-bit violin with customized features like chequered press-fit sides and a slightly curved top for more volume. The instrument parts are designed for 3mm plywood, cutting time on a mini laser cutter is approximately 40 minutes. This edition is made from local light plywood, likely poplar, but any 3mm ply would work. Lightweight wood can enhance the instrument's volume. A bass bar is included to prevent the bridge from coming through the top deck, while a sound post remains for the maker to install. Assemble the violin by numbering each side part and following steps such as gluing the neck, adding panels, and attaching decorations or engravings. Despite your best efforts, some mistakes may require cutting again.
