8-bit Photogrammetry
sketchfab
Decided to take a couple of my photogrammetry experiments and group them all together into a cohesive project. Originally I was considering combining them into a single mesh and then baking down the textures from the high-poly model to the low-poly version, but boolean unions with the photogrammetry data proved to be a messy process. I also utilized some rock assets from this free rock pack by Travis Davids: https://www.artstation.com/travisdavids - He shared his expertise on how to use photogrammetry not only for creating meshes but also for generating substances and depth maps for alphas. Initially, my intention was to figure out a way to accelerate environmental building using scans, but his technique of using it to generate meshes that can then be used to create dynamic assets for sculpting brushes etc is much more efficient. Now let's dive in!
