8.5" hub motor wheel for electric scooter
thingiverse
This is a hub motor wheel for the Xiaomi M365 solid rubber tire made from a geared MXUS electric bicycle motor without gears. It's still in progress, and I've included the CAD files if someone wants to adapt it for their broken leftover e-bike motor. (I'm not a CAD designer, so don't laugh.) I salvaged the motor from a broken e-bike, one of its hall sensors was faulty, but I fixed it, and now it's usable in an electric kickbike or trike, or something else. The plastic used is PETG to withstand summer temperatures and prevent shrinkage when exposed to sunlight. Black is a great color. The motor works fine so far, only tested on the table. The plastic parts feel sturdy, but I'm waiting for real-world testing. Motor details: MXUS 48V geared motor with 1000rpm @50V, theoretical top speed around 40Km/h @50V. I plan to use it at 36V. Cheapest 36/48V motor controller on eBay. Printer settings: CR10 with flexible BuildTak. PETG sticks too hard unless the table is lowered slightly. 7 perimeters, 50% infill, 240 deg C, and 78 deg C. Materials used: PETG black (no specific brand). Overhangs were a bit excessive for a perfect print. If I do it again, I'll opt for a chamfer all the way instead of the "nice" rim look. Beer consumed while drawing: Pripps Blå. Additional resources: https://www.gearbest.com/skateboard/pp_688578.html?wid=83 https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=WBhmdpWFPyE
