Dotted by many ruins of ancient monasteries and trading settlements, the coastlands are a region where poor villages eke out a meager existence by fishing and raising sheep. Such places are far away from any centers of power and authority remembers them only when the time comes to collect the taxes. Such places are often terrorized by robbers – human and otherwise and protected only by small number of Monster Hunters who endlessly patrol the hills and wind-swept cliffs of the fjords and caves under them. Those caves and ruins are frequently inhabited by all manner of not only pirates and bandits, but sea creatures that can walk the land as well. From elder horrors and terrors from the deep to tribes of Sea Trolls and Weresharks who prey on both fishermen and shepherds. One of the most dangerous Sea Troll tribes is led by a huge chieftain who was bitten by a Wereshark himself. This enormous Horned Troll Wereshark has become such a plague on coastline communities that they have asked Monster Hunters for help and the eldest, wisest and most cunning of all of them came to challenge the huge monster himself. They fought claw against axe, savagery versus cunning until both of them were swept into the sea by the savage waves that brought down the crumbling ruins where the Troll Wereshark made its lair.
