A 3rd rate ship, was a ship of the line which mounted between 64-80 guns. It was thought that 3rd rates maintained a superior balance between sailing ability, firepower and cost. Frigates were a small the perfect ships for single-ship action and privateering. It usually had one main gun deck as well as the guns positioned on the top decks. These were categorised as either 5th or 6th rate. The models in this kit are made for 1/700th Scale. But you can scale them however you like.
