7xAA battery holder with snap lid and integrated springs
prusaprinters
This is a 7x AA parallel battery holder for larger currents. It has a snap lid, internal springs for the battery connectors and separated space for the wiring. It can be fitted a standard 1.5 mm2 7x0.5mm copper wire normally used in household electrical power (the one drawn inside the walls, therefore the 7x battery configuration...) It can of course be modified to serial or any other configuration. I intended to use this for a (not yet finalized by any means) robot lawn mover. Post-Printing ============= Assembly The wire insertion is a bit tricky. The copper wire is stripped ~15 cm. The strands is inserted into the outside hole. Use a small screwdriver or toothpick to bend up one strand at each battery compartment. When all strands are in place, bend the tip of each strand and insert it gently in the bottom small hole from the wire space into the battery compartment. Use a small pair of pliers to drag it all the way inside the compartment, and again insert it in the other small hole back into the wiring space and up. Again use a small pair of pliers to gently stretch the strand, and cut off the remaining part. I will try to put up an descriptive photo later.
