Hafted Knife from Okada Excavations in Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska, Catalog Number 77-47-U49. Located in HHU, Level 4B, Hot Springs 2B, Dating Back to 500-800 CE. The Hot Springs site is a massive ancient village situated on the shoreline of Port Moller, along the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula coast. Archaeological excavations at the site have been conducted by multiple teams over a century-long period. The main occupation periods are from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE, and from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts were compiled as a result of research funded by grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the project as Principal Investigator. Initial digitization took place at Idaho State University's IVL facility. Subsequent processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
