Human: Excavation Data, Okada Site, Port Moller, Alaska. CAT# 77-47-U338. Hot Springs Village HHU, Level 8A. Period Dates: 2000-1600 BCE. The Port Moller village was a massive settlement on the southern Bering Sea coast of Alaska's Peninsula. Over a century, multiple excavation teams worked together to uncover its history. The main occupation periods were from 2000 BCE to 1000 BCE and from 100 CE to 800 CE. Research findings from grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411 are presented here. H. Maschner led the investigation as Principal Investigator. Digitization was originally done at Idaho State University's IVL lab. Further processing was completed by Global Digital Heritage.
