Human: Excavation Record, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-U300 Okada Digs HHU, Level 7. Hot Springs 1B/C.1600-1200 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs sits on the shore of Port Moller, situated on the southern Bering Sea side of the Alaska Peninsula. Over a century's worth of excavations have been conducted by multiple teams. The primary occupation periods date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE and 100 CE to 800 CE. The artifacts unearthed at Hot Springs are a direct result of research funded by grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as the Principal Investigator on this project. Initial digitization took place at the IVL in Idaho State University, with subsequent processing completed at Global Digital Heritage.
