The massive village of Hot Springs sits proudly on the shore of Port Moller, its southern Bering Sea shoreline a testament to the region's rich cultural heritage. For over a century, numerous teams of researchers have worked tirelessly to uncover the secrets hidden beneath its surface. Two distinct periods of occupation stand out: the first spanning from 2000 BCE-1000 BCE, and the second from 100 CE to 800 CE. The artifacts unearthed at Hot Springs are a direct result of extensive research conducted under the guidance of four prestigious grants: NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner led the charge as Principal Investigator, while original digitizing work was carried out at the IVL at Id. St. Univ. Further processing was completed at Global Digital Heritage.
