Biface, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-U215 Okada excavations HHU, Level 6. Hot Springs 1C. 1300-1000 BCE. The massive village of Hot Springs lies directly on the shore of Port Moller, situated on the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Multiple teams have conducted extensive excavations over the past century. Primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE and extend through to 1000 BCE, as well as from 100 CE up to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are a direct result of research carried out under grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as Principal Investigator for this project. Original digitizing efforts were completed at the IVL on Id. St. Univ. Subsequent processing was accomplished at Global Digital Heritage.
