The massive village of Hot Springs thrives on the shores of Port Moller, where the southern Bering Sea meets the Alaska Peninsula. For over a century, multiple excavation teams have carefully unearthed its secrets. The primary occupations date back to 2000 BCE and stretch to 1000 BCE, while another significant period spans from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are a direct result of the meticulous research conducted under the guidance of NSF grants 0137756, 1204020, 1139266, and 1321411. H. Maschner, Principal Investigator, spearheaded this effort. Original digitizing work was accomplished at the IVL at Idaho State University, with subsequent processing completed at Global Digital Heritage.
