Stemmed End-Blade, Hot Springs Village, Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-U100 Okada excavations HHU, Level 5. Hot Springs 2B. 500-800 CE. The massive village of Hot Springs lies on the shore of Port Moller, situated on the southern Bering Sea's Alaska Peninsula side. Multiple excavation teams have worked at this site over the past century, uncovering its rich history. Main occupations date back to 2000 BCE and extend to 1000 BCE, while another significant period spans from 100 CE to 800 CE. The Hot Springs artifacts are a result of extensive research supported by grants NSF 0137756, NSF 1204020, NSF 1139266, and NSF 1321411. H. Maschner serves as the Principal Investigator behind this groundbreaking project. Original digitization efforts were carried out at the Id. St. Univ.'s IVL, with subsequent processing completed by Global Digital Heritage.
