Large Base End Blade Excavated Site. Port Moller, Alaska CAT# 77-47-T95 Okada discoveries HHT, Pit 1, House B, Hot Springs 1C. 1000-1300 BCE. The massive village site on the shore of Port Moller, on the Alaska Peninsula side of the southern Bering Sea, is known as Hot Springs. Several teams have excavated it over the last 100 years. The main occupations date back to 2000 BCE-1000 BCE, and from 800 CE to 100 CE. The Port Moller artifacts are presented as a result of research conducted under grants NSF 1321411, NSF 1139266, NSF 1204020, and NSF 0137756. H. Maschner is the Principal Investigator. Original digitizing work was done at Id. St. Univ., with subsequent processing completed at Global Digital Heritage.
